Tor Ekeland Law is not a volume practice. We do our best work when the stakes are highest, the legal landscape is uncharted, and other firms are looking for the exit.

Experience
We've taken white-collar and computer-crime cases through jury verdict in federal courts in California, Washington D.C., Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Add appellate work in the Second, Third, Fifth, Ninth, and D.C. Circuits, a LIBOR conviction reversed on Fifth Amendment grounds in the Second Circuit, and a list of negotiated resolutions with U.S. Attorney's Offices nationwide.
Based in New York, we handle complex civil computer law matters at trial and on appeal.
In 2018, Tor graduated from the three-week Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. He regularly attends trial practice workshops. In 2025, he studied at Ethos. We litigate the boundary between the First Amendment and government efforts to restrict digital speech, and the Fourth and Fifth Amendment issues raised when the government searches and seizes digital evidence.

Before founding the firm in 2011, Tor spent five years as a complex commercial litigator at Sidley Austin. He worked on SEC, CFTC, and DOJ investigations of Fortune 500 companies, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) prosecutions, securities violations, and complex financial derivatives litigation. As pro-bono counsel on behalf of Sidley Austin he litigated numerous matters in Bronx Family Court.
